Wojo's has two locations, with the main one in Ortonville
consisting of 1-acre of covered retail and 2-acres of open
retail. The company has been in business for 24 years and does
about $3 million in sales annually. Training is a major focus of
Wojo's, and it offers one-on-one training for entry level
employees, as well as continuing education for those who are
interested in attending community classes, industry events or
seminars. Another interesting program for employees is an employee book read during slower seasons. "For this we pick a book that generally has something to do with either retailing, marketing, business growth or business ethics, or something along those lines," writes respondent Kevin Westrick. "We then lay out what chapters will be read and every week we have a group discussion about those chapters. We feel this is a great way to have everyone get a different view and gain some knowledge on a wide variation of topics dealing with the business." Find out more at www.wojos.com |

Wojo's Has Invented It's Very Own Plant:

We are extremely proud of our Wojo's Jem, a more compact growing vinca vine that is now propagated and sold throughout the country. Wojo's Jem vinca vine is a uniquely variegate variety of vinca vine that is very colorful and adds class to any combination planting. It is especially striking in combination with shades of blue, violet and red plants and does very well in sun or shade. For those of you who are wondering about the spelling of Jem, these are the initials of the owners 3 daughters, oldest to youngest, Jessica, Emily and Beth Marie, using the youngest daughter's middle initial, they came up with JEM (it sounded better than JEB) Pictures: Left: Wojo's JEM Right: Wojo's JEM in combination |

Wojo's has been in business since 1983. We started primarily by growing produce and sold it out of a roadside stand and at local farmer's markets. We have since grown to over 275,000 square feet of greenhouse space and acres of outdoor growing area. Wojo's Greenhouse is mainly a retail operation. Our primary sales now come from spring bedding plant production, perennial production and nursery stock. We continue the season with perennials throughout the summer months and mums and pumpkins in the fall. For the Christmas season, we have poinsettias and greens available. New to the Wojo's family in 2002 is our location in Davison, Wojo's Garden Splendors. They offer a wide selection of statuary, garden supplies, furniture and accessories as well as a nice selection of annuals, perennials and nursery stock. Our goal is to offer a large selection of quality plants at a reasonable price, along with outstanding service to our guests. |
